Jacob says:
bubble
shoes (he loooves wearing shoes)
tries to say please (come out "sssssss")
ball
daddy

and a lot of other jibberish that sounds like "eeeh! eeeh!"

He loves reading right now, especially the big book we have with shapes and colors. He will point to the colors and then say "Eh?" 'cause he wants me to ask him "Where's blue? Where's red? Where's the star?" Of course, no matter how much we play this game, the only color he knows is blue and the only shape he knows is a star.

The other night, I asked Rebekah to clean her room. I didn't expect very much, seeing as she is 3 years old, her room was a mess, and I figured she needed more specific direction. (Pick up all the trash first. Okay, now put away all the doll clothes.) But, I needed to rock Jacob and needed a quick diversion (plus a clean room.) I reminded her that her friend was coming over to play the next day so her room needed to be clean.

About 10 minutes later, she came into Jacob's room, where I was rocking him, and started cleaning his room. "Jacob's room needs clean too!" I watched as she put all the books away first, then all the toys, every pair of socks he had pulled out of his drawers, until his room was spotless. I mean, there wasn't a stray piece of lint on the floor.

When I went in her room to tuck her in, I found the same thing in her room. She had organized her little playhouse, her clothes, and put everything where it belonged.

She was beaming with pride.
