Thanksgiving 2008
I woke up to a quiet little voice right in my ear saying, "Mommy! I brought you breakfast in bed!"
I didn't know Rebekah even knew anything about the luxury of "breakfast in bed"...but I know this morning it was the sweetest breakfast I have ever had. She had gone downstairs and gotten me what I've been craving lately...cottage cheese and some fresh pineapple. She even got me a spoon. And she sat there while I ate it and helped me break the pineapple up in little pieces. It was so precious!
When I told her thank you, she said, "It's Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is a happy day!"
Her daddy was a little cranky and she kept saying, "But, Daddy, you have to be happy! Thanksgiving is a happy day!" She kept trying different things to cheer him up...giving him special kisses, singing her special Thanksgiving song from school ("Thanksgiving day is a happy day and we say Thank you God..."), and drawing him a special picture with an "I luv uuu."
We went to David's side of the family's house....Rebekah was a little unsure about the very active dog his grandparents had (that kept trying to jump on her) but Jacob was so excited. He followed the dog around all night like it was his best friend and called it "Woof." Every time the dog would go somewhere else (try to escape) Jacob would yell, "Woof! Woof!" He kept lugging around his Bob the Builder laptop and plopping down next to the dog and trying to get the dog to play on the computer with him. He touched noses with the dog and kept kissing it. It was so cute!
